Getting ready to travel is not always easy (there's always something you're bound to forget to pack) but once you're there, you want the trip to be great. To make your adventure easier than ever, all you need is a few of these cool travel products ranging from smart luggage to the ultimate utility jacket. These are the best travel gadgets to buy for your next vacation, according to the experts and my experience. I am not listing anything in a certain order. These are just items I have found too be useful.
1. An external battery is the one thing you should never go on a trip without because no one wants to carry around a dead cell phone. On many flights there are no usb charging ports if you are flying economy and when you are out exploring you need your phone for directions, taking pictures and also staying up to date with social media. I have to I travel with but, one would work be just fine.
2. Packing cubes are essential for packing more items in a small space. I usually have one for shirts, one for shorts/pants, one for intimate items and one for swim/dresses. You can get many items in them if you roll your items.
3. I pack a jacket I can use for rain and everyday use. This has been great when I have been motorbiking in extreme heat to cover yourself and great for cooler days.
4. A universal travel adapter. I use Anker brand but there many brands that work great to. This device has a whopping four USB plugs, making it perfect for a family (or anyone who needs to charge their phone, tablet, headphones, and smartwatch all at once). Not to mention that it'll even charge them quickly, too! It's great for those hotel rooms that never seem to have enough outlets.
5. Wireless headphones or ear buds. I have to be honest if I some that are expensive, I always loose them, so I choose to go in the middle for price. I have a pair of ear buds, direct phone connection and over the ear ones. Sometimes I have sleep with on when its so nice outside when I am trying to sleep.
6. Luggage is a tricky subject. If you are going for short vacation for a month or less, I would just use a carry on. If you are a long-term traveler, I use a 30L backpack for my office items and I use a medium 28-inch suitcase for my personal items. This can be tricky if you are packing for multiple climates.
7. You must have a phone and it must be unlocked. I travel with two iPhones. I use one for a local sim card and I hotspot off it with other phone because I want to keep my US number. I don’t always have to hotspot, because my US phone will work in many countries just not Asia. For reference I have T-Mobile in the United States.
8. Camera is always a tricky item to pack. They can be big and bulky and if you are traveling for a longer term, it can be a pain to carry around. I love smaller cameras like Go Pro’s or any of the smaller cameras. This really is a personal choice.
9. Medication is something you must plan. There are many countries like Turkey and Thailand that I have just taken my prescription bottle into the pharmacy, and they ask much do I want. I usually get a years’ worth at a time. This will be different for everyone. I travel full time so; I like to carry a good supply of antibiotics and my normal medicine.
These are the main things I would worry about. I have been able to find most things I have needed in the countries I am visiting.
