Italy visas: Coming-soon digital nomad visa, passive income, startup, investor

🇮🇹 Italy has delicious food and beautiful views, and the country has a few permits which allow you to relocate long-term.

-Good news: There will be a Digital Nomad Visa and a Remote Worker Visa for Italy. The first one is aimed at freelancers, and professionals working for themselves and that have their own income. The second one is for corporate employees that are allowed to work from anywhere.

We will share the requirements for these two types of visa once they are approved, but they will most likely be around income level and type of employment.

-Passive Income Visa: This permit is originally intended for retirees, but if you have prove of getting passive income, 31K threshold per year, you can obtain it as well. You also need to show proof of health insurance and accommodation.

The passive income you can receive is from the government, from rents, and from dividends from companies. The only thing not qualified as passive income is from work-related sources and savings.

-Tourist Visa: depends on your country. If your nation has a bilateral agreement with the Schengen Area, you can stay for 90 days; otherwise, you need to request a visa for tourism, business or else.

-Startup Visa:

You need to:

1) Invest 5000EUR on your startup.

2) Pitch your idea to the government with a solid business plan.

3) Show accommodation and insurance for your residency permit.

4) Be funded by yourself or a bank.

Your residency is valid for 2 to 3 years. After 5 years, you can get a permanent residency.

-Investor Visa: It goes from 250,000 to 2 millionEUR investments to obtain a Residency Visa in Italy for two years.
